Definition URBEX/URBAN: The Urban Exploration or Urbex is an activity to visit places, abandoned or not, and generally denied access, or at least difficult to access. The urban explorer appreciates the solitude of the space outside of work zone and crossing designed as such: thus, a guided tour of the nave of a cathedral will be replaced by nocturnal exploration of its roofs, factories become an abandoned playground, etc..
Urban exploration is a set of practices whose motivations may be very remote. Some will be carried on the heritage, the old and abandoned, while others will have the mastery of the modern city and its wings. Photography is also a major motivation. The groups often form around one of these practices.
Unlike the middle of urban exploration, the exploration of rural is more marginal.Heritage knowledge, trade or industrial, is often a motivating activity. Places visited: Farms, farm cooperatives, silos, houses, factories, construction sites, buildings, cemeteries, old railways ... Exploration is often accompanied by the taking of photographs of the place visited, sometimes a statement of the plan.
